Children, Adolescents and Parents today are facing challenges that are often extremely complicated, confusing and overwhelming. From the harmful aspects of social media impacting children, to the economic and physical stress on adults working to keep their family healthy and thriving, things just seem more difficult.

Families Together is here to provide the support & resources needed to help make life for you, your children, and your family more manageable and joyful.

Families Together Resource Center is an independent Personal Counseling and Psychotherapy practice conveniently located on Main Street in Huntington, New York. As the sole practitioner, Dr. Eric created the practice in response to the ever increasing stress placed upon children, teens, parents, and adults in any family configuration, and the desire to provide high-quality, affordable counseling & psychotherapy services to the greater Long Island Community. It is intended to be a safe place in which children, families and individuals can receive assistance with existing problems, as well as access the support & resources needed to help prevent future problems. An ounce of prevention really is worth more than a pound of cure! Fee’s are affordable and adjusted as needed to allow as many individuals & families as possible to receive assistance. Fully in-person services are available as well as a virtual option for those who are unable to physically attend or simply prefer remote access.

He has worked in mental health, drug treatment, crisis intervention and primary & higher education. Born and raised on Long Island, Dr. Eric believes in community service and is a volunteer with the Suffolk County Emergency Response Team and is a member of the American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health team. He currently resides in East Northport with his wife, youngest of three children, and dog Polly.

I provide a compassionate, respectful, effective and non-judgemental approach to assisting children, adolescents and adults with a wide variety of problems. This includes help for anxiety, depression, substance abuse, loneliness, stress and school refusal, all of which have become increasingly associated with the rise in prevalence of ADHD. In such situations, parents are helped to identify and develop highly effective methods of managing their child’s challenging behavior at home through predicting potentially difficult situations and structuring the environment to minimize or eliminate problematic behavior. Interventions are evidence-based and informed by trauma informed principles of safety, trustworthiness, collaboration and empowerment. My work with children involves partnering with parents to support them in their effort to promote self-confidence, respect, responsibility and a spirit of cooperation in their children. With over thirty years of experience working with children and parents as a social worker, special education teacher and substance abuse counselor, I utilize time-tested strategies & tools that are aimed at increasing parent/caregiver effectiveness and restoring peace & joy to families. In my work with adults, I offer a supportive environment in which to explore challenging relationships and situations with the goal of replacing costly coping methods with less-costly and more fulfilling strategies that lead to a life of greater joy and fulfillment.

It Doesn’t Have To Be Scary or Painful!
Counseling & Psychotherapy does not always need to be a constantly painful and serious process. In fact, some of the most healing aspects of the process often occur in the context of shared laughter about the comical situations we place ourselves in while trying to navigate life’s challenges. Supported by a great deal of research, we now know that it is usually when we are “playing” that our creativity is at its best and creative problem solving highest.

Remote Access
Counseling and psychotherapy can be beneficial to individuals who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection to others, gain insight themselves and change on-going problems. Online sessions are held from the safety of your own home at a time that is most convenient for you.

Let Me Help You
Initial phone consultations are at no-cost and provide a convenient method to determine how I can be of assistance. Please feel free to give me a call so we can talk about what a happier & healthier life could look like for you, your child, and your family.

Health Insurance
Dr Eric is an Approved Provider for the Northwell Direct system. If you are not covered by Northwell, receipts can be provided should you wish to submit directly to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
