Sadhana Center for Yoga and Meditation
“At Sadhana, we are revolutionizing yoga to align with justice. Through the lens of movement, we examine the intelligence of our bodies, the language of our senses, and the strength of community.”
– SONDRA LORING, DIRECTOR, SADHANA CENTER FOR YOGA & MEDITATION
STUDIO & ZOOM CLASSES • TEACHER TRAINING • YOGA ON DEMAND • MOVINGPOTENTIAL
MovingPotential brings trauma-informed, mindfulness-based yoga and meditation to people impacted by trauma, addiction and incarceration in New York’s Hudson Valley. The resources and tools we provide for recognizing and reducing aggression, impulsivity, reactivity, and despair, give prisoners and addicts a greater chance of taking responsibility and living differently.
We say these tools and resources are the foundation for personal and social transformation.
We have active programs running concurrently in prisons, recovery centers, and residential centers for young people. Currently, we serve Samaritan Daytop Village (Meadow Run/Fox Run), Columbia County Jail, Re-Entry Columbia in Hudson, Greater Hudson Promise Neighborhood in Hudson (children with an incarcerated parent), and Sondra runs a program at the Greene Correctional Facility for men through the Wave Farm organization.
