Black Cat Bulk Goods
Established in 2022, Black Cat Bulk Goods is a small shop that aims to help people live a more sustainable life.
We offer local and organic pantry staples in bulk, like Wild Hive Farm beans, grains and flours, and Sfoglini pasta. We carry oils, vinegars, soy sauce, local maple syrup, honey and a lot more!
Our store is full of everyday essentials, hard-to-find ingredients, and alternative items. We prioritize food that is organic and grown or produced locally. Everything in here has been carefully chosen and is something we use in our own home.
Our store is 100% vegetarian, dairy-free and egg-free. We don’t stock items made with leather, sheepskin, boar’s hair, feathers, tallow, or animal-derived ingredients like carmine, keratin, collagen, gelatin, or bone. We do this for ethical reasons, but also believe in the environmental benefits of a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. Non-vegan items you may find here include bulk honey, a few cosmetics made with beeswax, and wool items like dryer balls and cat toys. Our wool products come from a single, trusted source who only uses cruelty-free wool and operates with fair-trade labor practices. We don’t pass judgement on the choices of anyone else and welcome everyone to shop here.
You are welcome to bring in your own clean, empty containers to fill up food and household products. We carry refillable soaps, cleaning supplies, laundry products and cosmetics, made by some of our favorite small businesses, based locally and across the United States.
Our products are plastic-free, handmade, fair trade, environmentally conscious, and made with natural ingredients.
Our products are free from chemical dyes, parabens, sulfates and other toxins. The brands we chose to work with voluntarily disclose their products’ ingredients, which you can read in our store or on our website. These brands are proud of their ingredients because they are high quality, effective and chosen with care. They are safe for you and the environment. All of our products are cruelty-free.
We also stock books & zines from small publishers and garden seeds from the Hudson Valley Seed Company.
Opening this store was the best way we could think of to provide something useful to the community in the most conscientious way.
12 N. Chestnut Street, New Paltz, New York 12561
Our shop is located on the ground floor of a big green Victorian building. We are beside Lola’s and across the street from the Mobile gas station. There are five steps in the front of the building and there is a ramp in the back. We are less than a block from Main Street and our shop is easy to walk to. We are right next to a municipal parking lot and there is metered parking across the street and along the side street (Academy).
