Jorge Salas
Jorge Salas is an Afrocuban / Salsa / Flamenco teacher with 20+ years of experience. Originally from Venezuela, Jorge is a professional dancer skilled in a diverse range of genres: traditional (Venezuelan), flamenco, jazz, casino salsa, Afro-Cuban and Afro-Venezuelan, among others. He has experience in teaching, performing and producing shows at a variety of cultural festivals internationally.
Whether it’s Mambo, Footwork, Afrocuban, or Partnerwork — Jorge’s classes are designed to build real dancers, with real skills, and real flavor.
Jorge Salas not only brings authentic dance technique, but also deep cultural understanding of rumba and Afro. His knowledge and skill level of dance is truly exceptional!
Jorge has been cast in Broadway musicals and movies alike. In 2020, he was part of the immersive theatre production, “Carmen” in NYC as one of the principals dancers, in the roll of Don Jose. Recently, he’s appeared in the movie, “In The Heights” by Lin Manuel Miranda.
Today, he’s a master teacher of salsa, bachata and Afro-fusion classes in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area, as well as a performer and teacher at various events and congresses. Come train with the best in New York City!
