Center for Cuban Studies

The Center for Cuban Studies

The Center for Cuban Studies (CCS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt educational institution with a national membership base organized by a group of scholars, writers, artists and other professionals with a purpose to counter the effects of U.S. policy toward Cuba.

Founded in 1972 and located in New York City, CCS is dedicated to providing information about contemporary Cuba and contributing to a normalization of relations between Cuba and the U.S., including an end to the embargo.

We offer four decades of experience crafting custom tours of Cuba, and four decades of glorious client testimonials.

We offer full-service travel arrangements to individuals, groups, families, educators, students, professionals, and organizations under the General License categories issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The Cuban Art Space

The Cuban Art Space is incorporated within the Center for Cuban Studies to promote the work of Cuban artists, especially those living and working in Cuba, and to educate the U.S. public about Cuba’s cultural life. From its beginning CCS has stressed the importance of Cuban art and culture.

Our collection of more than 10,000 posters, photographs, prints, drawings, paintings, ceramics and other examples of the visual arts in Cuba, plus thousands of slides, catalogs and other information about Cuban artists, provides a unique look into the country’s evolution. Many of these works are available as exhibits that travel around the country.

All of this material is organized so that it can be both exhibited and accessible to researchers, and the Cuban Art Space has a scheduled program of exhibits open to the public.
