Rueda at the Park
For those not in the know, Rueda at the Park is New York’s longest running Cuban dance party! Playing a mix of all the greatest Cuban bops and bangers — timba, son, reparto, bolero, rumba, mambo, chachacha, changui, and more — we throw a totally free open-air dance party right in the heart of Central Park at Bethesda Fountain and Terrace.
New York’s community for Rueda and all who love Afro-Cuban dance and music.
The event always starts off with TWO free lessons in rueda de casino, one for newbies and one for rueda vets, followed by a few glorious hours of uninterrupted music so you can dance with a group, with a partner, with yourself, or with anyone you feel like! We’ll sprinkle in some animaciones and mini-lessons here and there to expand your knowledge and maximize your enjoyment 🙂
Ethan Wagner is a passionate fan of Rueda de Casino. He has launched many rueda-inspired events and hosts the popular Rueda at the Park Social.
Tell your friends, family, parole officers, catfishing targets, and everyone you know–see you at 5pm in the park!!!
