Whether you stay a day or a week, you won’t regret visiting the natural beauty of Winding Hills Park, located off Old Route 17K just two miles west of the Village of Montgomery.
A picturesque landscape with many amenities for anyone that enjoys what nature and the outdoors have to offer.
Bring the entire family out for a day in the park to commune with nature, have a picnic, fish by the lake or walk the nature trails which loop through the various types of terrain in the park. You can also stay for the night or weekend at one of the 51 camp site destinations.
51 Seasonal Camp Sites, Ranger Station, 40-acre Lake, 4-acre Pond, Boating (car-top boats only), Playground, Horseshoe Pits, Volleyball Court, Comfort Stations, Benches, Picnic Tables, Grills, Nature Trails, Parking.
Camping: A 51-site facility for trailers or tents in a heavily wooded area. Each site contains a picnic table and fire ring. The two large, centrally located comfort stations contain electricity and shower facilities. Advanced holiday weekend reservations may be made by calling (845) 457-4918. Reservations will be taken only for Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Columbus Day weekends.
Season: Weather permitting, from the first Friday in May to the fourth Sunday in October.
***Starting May 2, 2025, Winding Hills Campgrounds (non-holiday) camp site fees, firewood and dump fee payments are credit card only, no cash or checks accepted.
Holiday reservations (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Columbus Day) payments can be made by either credit card or check. Payments must be received 7 days in advance of reservation date.
Picnicking: Picnic tables are available for small groups. Use of the covered shelter/pavilion requires a permit and payment of scheduled fees. Shelter occupancy is limited to 96. There is electricity, a paved floor, restrooms and charcoal grills are available.
Boating: A 40-acre lake is open for boating from May through October during designated times. All boaters must wear a life jacket. The public may launch their own boats (electric-motor, solid bottom and car-top only) with the approval of the ranger. Posted rules must be observed.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED IN THE CAMPGROUND.
FEES: County residents–$30 per night ($35 with electricity)
Non-residents–$40 per night ($45 with electricity)
HOLIDAY WEEKENDS–Add $5 to each of the above fees.
