CENTRO ESPAÑOL DE QUEENS

CENTRO ESPAÑOL DE QUEENS

To promote a spirit of unity and fraternity amongst all Spaniards living here in North America, as well as anyone of Spanish descent, with the goal of recreating an authentic representation of Spain right here at home in New York City; one that showcases the best that our culture has to offer and promotes our heritage and traditions so that everyone, of any background or culture, can enjoy.

Celebrating our roots with the music, dance, food and traditions of all the communities of Spain. Come visit our cultural center in Astoria, New York.

The Spanish community and its descendants, united with the mutual interest of keeping our heritage, values and traditions alive, founded CENTRO ESPAÑOL DE QUEENS in 1971.

Our society was founded in 1971 under the name Spanish Circle (or Círculo Español). In 1985, with the support and hard work of our founders, the organization was able to purchase the building, in which we currently reside, in Astoria, NY and fondly call home. It acts as our meeting place and cultural center.

Our members enjoy the following activities:

  • Music classes (Bagpipe, Drums, Tambourine)
  • Dance classes (Gallego Folk Dance, Flamenco)
  • Monthly banquetes to celebrate various holidays
  • Children’s holiday parties & events
  • Dance performances (Flamenco, Tango, Folk Dance)
  • Televised soccer games on our large screen (Spanish League and major championship games)
  • Music concerts and dinner shows
  • Activities in partnership with other organizations that promote the culture of Spain such as:
  • Committee of the Hispanic Day Parade
  • Spanish Language & Culture Associate (ALCE)
  • Society of Spanish Residents in NY

Monthly Events – We host a variety of events for adults and children to celebrate our most important holidays.

Music & Dance Classes – We offer various music and dance classes for our members and their children and grandchildren.

Spanish Soccer – We televise the Spanish National League soccer games on our large screen and all the important championships.

Traditional Spanish Food – just as good as grandma’s. Enjoy a social club atmosphere perfect for families and groups.

In April 2011, the society became a non-profit cultural organization and updated its name to Centro Espanol de Queens.

We are very grateful to our members, who continue to support us economically and with the gift of time, so that we can continually meet our objectives. Our doors are always open to new members who wish to join the organization, collaborate on cultural projects and support our overall mission.
