The Fab Faux present “The White Album” in its entirety…

Venue: Terminal 5

Date: Sat 12/11

Notes: all ages

Doors: 7:00 PM / Show: 8:00 PM

$35 advance / $40 day of show

The Fab Faux are without a doubt the most musically satisfying Beatles tribute band on the scene today. Boasting the high visibility of TV star/musicians Will Lee from The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Vivino from Late Night with Conan O’Brien; five strong lead vocalists (including Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello, Jack Petruzzelli) and a commitment to the accurate reproduction of The Beatles’ repertoire; this is the band to see if you want to know what it might have been like if The Beatles toured behind their later albums (with a healthy portion of the early guitar-based stuff that most tribute bands play.) Imagine hearing complex material like “Strawberry Fields Forever”, “I Am the Walrus”, and “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite”, performed in complete part-perfect renditions; or such harmony-driven songs as “Because”, “Nowhere Man”, and “Paperback Writer”, reproduced not only note-for-note, but with extra vocalists available to achieve a double-tracked effect!

Love is in the air for Rebecca Kelly Ballet’s spring performances…

at the The Ailey Citigroup Theater
405 W. 55th St. New York, NY 10019

Love is in the air for Rebecca Kelly Ballet spring performances

“Desire” creates a mood of restless longing, frenzy, and fractured timing, centered around the past and future possibilities of lovers, set to the arresting sounds of rock cello.

“Trouve Moi” a tender duet starting as a tentative reach; movement becomes a metaphor for love’s growing possibilities, a youthful portrait of hope.

Repertory favorite, “The Travelers” – perennially dark, edgy, sexy, mysterious fun.

Tickets prices are as follows:
Full-price: $35
Students and seniors: $15

NYC Culture Spot: Symphony Space

Symphony Space NYCSymphony Space is an Upper West Side cultural center that brings artists and audiences together though an array of literary, film and performing-arts events. The stately facility features two theaters whose calendar of music, theater, readings, films and other events can only be described as diverse. Past performances have included tributes to legends like Duke Ellington and the Beatles, concerts by new artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Milk and Jade, and dramatic readings from authors like Stephen King and Stephen Colbert. Symphony Space is also home to dance shows—which range from classical ballet performances to the upcoming US Pole Dancing Championship—as well as rare films on Sunday afternoons and a slew of other events that defy description (see the Symphony Space calendar of events for more information). At the in-house wine bar on the ground floor—aptly called unWINEd—guests can enjoy a drink in a laid-back atmosphere before or after a performance; visitors are welcome even if they don’t have tickets to a show. In addition to the Culture Spot offers, guests this month shouldn’t miss Composers Now, a weeklong music festival, held February 22–28, presenting groundbreaking works from living composers.

In honor of its designation as this month’s Culture Spot, Symphony Space is offering $5 off general admission to select performances and two-for-one tickets to its Sunday film presentations. The savings are valid February 1–28, 2010, and may not be combined with any other offer, discount or promotion. The coupon will be available during the entire month of February at the following locations: Official NYC Information Center–Midtown, Official NYC Information Center–Harlem, Official NYC Information Center–Times Square Alliance, Official NYC Information Kiosk–City Hall and Official NYC Information Kiosk–Chinatown.
