Into The Wild

Leopard and cheetah and zebra oh my! Clothing and accessories show off their wild side with animal kingdom inspired prints and motifs. One way that the animal print trend is developing is that it now includes other animal skin prints like zebra, cheetah, ocelot, jaguar, cow, giraffe and tiger. Another way that this trend is growing in momentum is that more and more accessories have animal print textures.

Wearing animal prints can either add a touch of class to a smart outfit or produce a nightmarish fashion disaster. Playing with wild prints can be a very dangerous game. Of all of the fashion faux-pas, nothing is quite as heartbreaking as the blatant abuse of animal print.

The secret of wearing any animal-based pattern fashion trend successfully, is to relate the volume of pattern to your personality. Overall, less is usually more. It may be as small as a clutch purse or it could be as lavish as a coat or pair of boots. Whatever you choose, pick only one item that's printed at a time. If you are normally an understated dresser, then select just a small item such as a little printed cardigan. It will swiftly uplift any basic trouser, skirt or shift dress into something more modern.

Another important thing to remember when wearing any kind of print, is that you must match your body size with the print's size. So, for example, if you are a petite shopper, then look for small, petite prints. Wearing a large print on a small body frame would just make you look like you were swallowed up by the print you are wearing.
